What an awesome start to the rep’s season with Netball Manurewa having two under 14’s representative teams. Manurewa Kakariki & Manurewa Ma have played exceptional at the tournaments which they have been a part of so far at Papakura, Pukekohe, Howick Pakuranga & North Harbour. Netball Manurewa proudly hosted our very first 7-Aside Transition Programme—created to support tamariki as they move from 6-aside futureFERNS to the traditional 7-aside game of netball. The session was action-packed, with a strong focus on educating players about the seven on-court positions, understanding the key rule differences between the two formats, and building technical skills through position-specific workshops in Shooting, Midcourt, and Defence. It was fantastic to see a great mix of Year 6 and intermediate-aged players getting involved—especially those who will be stepping up to the Intermediate grade in 2026. Keep an eye out for our next Transition Programme, coming soon to support our Netball Manurewa whānau. Ka mau te wehi! |
