Netball Northern Zone have a focus on Good Sports this year as have many Centres.  Ahead of our running Centre based workshops we wish to collate some background data.

Netball NZ – Launch of Good Sports Campaign

NNZ Resources are now available https://www.netballnz.co.nz/netball-nz/community/good-sports.html  on the website. NNZ will be posting Good Sports videos on NNZ Social media pages throughout the season and we encourage all Centres to share these with your community.

The zone is running an online Q&A session for Coaches, Managers, and Umpires that will be attending the local tournaments as well as tournament weeks. This is a fantastic opportunity to ask the expert your questions regarding all things tournament preparation. You will be able to network with other Coaches, Managers, Umpires, and NetballSmart and offer any advice from those who have participated in tournaments previously.

Sport Auckland have 2 courses out east coming up being held at Pakuranga Rugby Club at Lloyd Ellsmore Park.

  1. For our new or beginner coaches we have our Coach Emerge program running on the 29th of May from 6-7:30pm. Registration link is https://www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/233813. Program is bult around the Good Sports Spine and how it can be sued to support planning training sessions and supporting the needs of our tamariki and rangatahi. For all new or beginner coaches, especially good for parents supporting junior teams.
  2. For parents looking to help their kids in sport we have “Winning in the Long Run” running on the 6th June form 6-7pm. Registration link is https://www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/233814.  Program is again built around the Good Sport Spine but focussing more on how parents can support their kids on game day and in and around sport to develop a lifelong love and engagement in sport and activity.
